The purpose of this club is to promote education and interest in jewelry design and metalsmithing and to support activities that would lead to the technical and aesthetic development of Texas Tech University students. The Metals Club supports and assists in organizing the visiting artist program through fundraising and applies for funding through the Student Government Association. Metals Club’s visiting artist program has been active for over 30 years, allowing Metals Club to organize visits by 95 artists to Texas Tech University and making Metals Club the longest continuously funded student club within the School of Art..
